Barbara Bush Foundation Announces New Board and Investment Committee Members

dr. Michael Levin is a globally recognized leader in research, policy and philanthropy in education and digital innovation. He currently serves as Senior Vice President, Learning and Impact, for Noggin, Nickelodeon’s direct-to-consumer interactive learning service for preschool and elementary-aged children.

Honey Flayer is a retired partner of the law firm Sidley Austin, where she specialized in representing large hospital systems. She continues to be involved in health care as Chair of the Policy and Advocacy Advisory Board of Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicagomember of the executive committee of the board of directors of the Boca Grande Health Clinic in Boca Grande, Floridaand as director of Pathways.org.

The Board of Directors is chaired by Lori WachsPartner at Springboard Growth Capital.

The Barbara Bush Foundation’s Investment Committee is a seasoned group of national finance experts who provide advice on managing the nonprofit’s investment portfolio. The new appointees are Edward Anthony, Richard Kelly and Carrie Schwab-Pomerantz.

Edward Anthony is a nationally recognized asset manager with decades of experience. He is the founder of Zeke Capital Advisors, a multi-family firm focused on investment advice, and previously served as a partner and senior portfolio manager for Chartwell Investment Partners.

Richard Kelly has extensive international investment experience, including decades of service with organizations such as JPMorgan Chase and Credit Suisse Group. Prior to his retirement, he most recently served as Head of Cross-Border Financial Advisory Group for Mizuho Securities. UNITED STATES.

Carrie Schwab-Pomerantz is a Certified Financial Planner and Personal Finance Expert who has dedicated her career to helping people from all walks of life achieve financial security. She served two White House administrations on financial capability policy and, for nearly four decades, held various positions at the Charles Schwab Corporation. She is currently the CEO of Charles Schwab, President of the Charles Schwab Foundation, President of Schwab Charitable, and President of Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

Raquel Rodriguez, lawyer and shareholder of Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC, was appointed Chairman of the Investment Committee. Rodriguez has over 30 years of experience in a wide variety of government, commercial and litigation matters. From 2002 to 2007, she was general counsel for former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, working on some of the most critical issues facing the state. His areas of expertise include banking, commercial, international, real estate, constitutional, administrative and electoral law. She was also a member of the investment committee of the Florida Workers’ Compensation Joint Underwriting Association, as well as chair of its audit committee.
