Vesuvius has made strategic investments to increase manufacturing capabilities and improve sustainable processes across North America to support foundry customers in the region.

Construction has already begun on a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, where 75% of customer demand in North America will be met by 2023.

Additionally, the new manufacturing site and existing facilities are equipped with updated technology and sustainable initiatives that reduce carbon emissions and improve the overall speed and delivery of production processes.

In 2021, Vesuvius Group also completed a strategic acquisition of US-based Universal Refractories Inc., which significantly expands its North American presence among electric arc furnace (EAF) steel producers, while strengthening its commitment to foundry customers in the region.

While many industries have scaled back their innovative advancements in 2020 and 2021 due to pandemic constraints, Vesuvius has maintained its investment in large-scale research and development operations.
